Anytime anyone around me says something positive about Jon Stewart or The Daily Show (ESPECIALLY that “lol they go after everyone!” horseshit) I sit them down and force them to watch his recent interview with Nancy Pelosi. If you ever wanted the distilled essence of Stewart being a weak, simpering piece of shit liberal mouthpiece cowering before his party line on tape, there ya go. I was just kind of apathetically neutral towards him until someone linked me to it. He’s a complete piece of shit.
People keep trying to push that jon stewart is some kind of genius as well, or the same for colbert, because colbert does a show where he pretends to be Bill O’Reilly, but, get this……….. HE’S ACTUALLY A LIBERAL MAKING FUN OF THE RIGHT WING! Incredible, how could such a thing be?
They are liberal political mouthpieces. Nothing more. They serve no further purpose except to promote their political party’s agenda, and to be apologists for the left. The show thrives very well because it’s supported by the entertainment industry and the media, which is overtly liberal.
I’ll give them that they’re crafty, but only in attempting to cover their motives. They will throw in a token slam (a soft underhand pitch) on a democrat every once in a while, just so the fans of the show can say “see, they attack both sides!”
I’ve only watched the show a few times when jon stewart was on. One time he had some republican guy on who wrote a book about such and such right wing cause that was probably easily picked apart. The arch comedian, jon stewart, had a very bland plodding conversation with him that featured two pre-written jokes in the 5 minute interview, and at the end jon explained that he did not agree with the man’s politics, as if the show were some sort of political discussion show, instead of a comedy show like it was supposed to be. I knew right then that the daily show was no longer a comedy show, it was just jon stewart pushing his politics, couched in a flurry of bashing republicans and jokes about how Bush is stupid.
The other time I watched it, there was some guy on there talking about how there was an environmental catastrophe that would happen very soon, and it was about goats in China being used to harvest cashmere wool, and that these goats had hooves that ruined grass, and therefore it was creating “a new dustbowl” that would do this and this damage and eventually lead to further environmental damage to the US and worldwide. Then jon stewart followed with “yes but cashmere sweaters are so soft and comfy!” followed by about a full minute of uncontrolled screeching hysterical laughter from the audience, and then back into the interview, where the liberal guest and his bleeding heart cause now had the full backing and support of the liberal audience. This was when I realized that this was not even not a comedy show, this wasn’t even a show, it was merely liberals reaffirming their preconceived political viewpoints to themselves, and patting themselves on the back for it.
From there I learned all sorts of odd things about jon stewart, his supposed wandering rants around the halls of Crossfire and so on, the very rare appearances of Christopher Hitchens in which he Hitchslapped the shit out of jon stewart right to his own confused and silent crowd. Of course, now Hitchens is dead, and jon stewart and colbert has a bunch of peabodies and emmys.
I used to like Colbert on Strangers With Candy, but that was an actual funny show, he’s not funny anymore, not unless you’re a liberal and need to feel validated, but I suspect those are not laughs of mirth from their crowds, they are laughs of self-gratification.
So you can still watch stewart apologize for obama’s mistakes, passing the blame for obama snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq this past month alone, and fans of the show, huffpo, buzzfeed, et al, all congratulating themselves for continuing to blame Bush for ISIS freely beheading civilians again, almost sickly pleased with the mass murders now happening in Iraq because it means they can continue to blame a president who hasn’t been in office for the better part of a decade. I’ve never seen a political party so overjoyed to see civilians being slaughtered en masse, or at least not since Stalin.
The above is on point, but I just want to say that while I haven’t seen Nancy Pelosi on Stewart’s show, I’m not surprised one bit that he basically got down on his knees and performed for her. She’s gross, he’s gross, the entire media is gross, and as much as I love politics, I really hate politics because of cunts like Pelosi and HOW LONG they’ve been in charge.
